Service messages
The service messages application can be found here. The purpose of the application is to be able to post messages that will be displayed in the selected applications/portals. You might want to post messages in applications if you e.g. know there will be downtime, maintenance or incorrect data. It's important to know that the app has different environments, meaning if you use the app in CI, the messages you post will only show in CI. Most of the time you would probably want to use FPRD (production environment). This functionality is currently just supported for applications and portals inside the Fusion sphere, and not for external applications.
How to use
To post a service message: Go to the app and select + New Service message
on the right hand side which will open a sidesheet. You will need to fill out the required fields before being allowed to post the message. If you are missing some required fields and click on Create
you will see which ones you are missing or have filled out wrongly. The field called Hide
is basically a draft; the service message won't show anywhere or notify anyone. Notify user
will make the service message show as a popup in the applications you select (This can vary based on which portal, Fusion Native can operate differently compared to Project execution portal). Applies from
has a default value of the current time, and Applies to
can be empty if you don't know how long you want to display the service message, although it is recommended to select an appropriate time range. Scope
means where the service messages should be displayed. You have two options: Application specific or portal specific. You are able to select multiple applications for the same service message. Click on create when you are satisfied with the message.
To edit a service message: Click on the service message displayed in the table that you want to edit which will open a sidesheet. Inside the sidesheet you are able to edit all the fields you had to fill out when you created the message. Once you click on Submit changes
the changes will take effect. You are also able to delete the message.
To view a service message: All service messages are displayed in a table, with the active ones on top (also has a green color if it's active). There are some hidden columns with more information like ID
fields. If you want to see some more detailed information about the specific service message, click a service message in the table and then click on the Details
tab inside the sidesheet. Here you are able to see who created it, when it was created, and some more columns hidden by default.
